Wałbrzych Mountains

The Wałbrzych Mountains are a mountain range in the Central Sudetes, located near Wałbrzych in Lower Silesia. The range stretches for about 35 kilometers, from the Bóbr valley in the northwest to the Bystrzyca valley in the southeast. The highest peak is Borowa, rising to 853 meters above sea level, although for a long time it was mistakenly believed to be Chełmiec. It is Chełmiec, not Borowa, that is included in the Crown of Polish Mountains. On Borowa there is a viewing tower, and during the hike you can also see the ruins of Nowy Dwór Castle. Chełmiec also offers a viewing tower, and the shortest route to its summit leads from Boguszów-Gorce. Another attraction is Trójgarb with a modern viewing tower, from which there is a beautiful panorama of the surroundings. Trails in the Wałbrzych Mountains can be short, but are often steep and tiring, leading through picturesque forests. In the area, it is worth visiting towns such as Szczawno-Zdrój, Jedlina-Zdrój, and Boguszów-Gorce. It is an excellent area for hiking for families, groups of friends, and seniors, as well as for nature and history enthusiasts.
