Bolków Castle is a medieval stronghold located in Bolków, in Lower Silesia, at Zamkowa 1. The site is part of the Trail of 4 Castles and serves as a museum and historical monument. The first mention of the castle dates back to 1277, when Duke Bolesław II the Bald of Legnica referred to it as 'our castle'. The Gothic structure was built during the reign of his son, Bolko I, who surrounded it with powerful defensive stone walls with a gate system and erected masonry residential buildings. On the castle grounds, visitors can see the unique Beak Tower, the only structure of its kind in Poland, standing 25 meters high, offering a breathtaking view of the Nysa Szalona Valley. It also houses the oldest preserved window in Poland, dated to 1289-1290. The castle offers guided tours and admission is free. It is accessible to everyone, including families, organized groups, and school trips. Facilities include toilets, and there is public transport nearby. The castle is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (until 3:30 PM on Wednesdays), and on weekends from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Contact: phone 75 741 32 97, email kontakt@zamek-bolkow.info.pl.
