City Park in Bolków

The Municipal Park in Bolków encompasses the forested Wilhelm's Hill (Knieberg) within the town. According to chronicle records from 1790, the hill was regarded as the legendary baptism site of the settlement's first inhabitants, linked to a legend about the paladin Roland, nephew of Charlemagne, who in the 9th century was said to have preached Christianity here among the then-pagan inhabitants of the stronghold. The park is listed as a regional heritage monument.
