Bolków Castle
Bolków Castle is a medieval stronghold located in Bolków in Lower Silesia, rising on a hill above the Nysa Szalona River. Its history dates back to the 13th century, when it was built by Duke Bolko I the Strict. Over the centuries, the castle served a defensive role and witnessed many historical events, from the Hussite Wars to modern times. Today it is a permanent ruin, secured and open to visitors. The castle houses a branch of the Karkonosze Museum. Visitors can climb the viewing tower for picturesque views of the surroundings and explore medieval chambers and dungeons. The castle is famous for events such as knight tournaments, gothic music festivals, and historical reenactments that attract history enthusiasts from around the world. The site is accessible to everyone, including families with children and organized groups. Facilities include toilets, and there is public transport nearby as well as bike parking. Guided tours are available.
