Charlottenburg Palace

Charlottenburg Palace is a Baroque residence located in the western part of Berlin, originally built as a summer home for Sophie Charlotte of Hanover at the end of the 17th century. Over time, it became one of the main seats of the Prussian rulers from the Hohenzollern dynasty. The complex consists of several parts, including the Old Palace with its Baroque interiors and the New Wing, where visitors can admire Rococo decorations, including the famous Golden Gallery. The gardens also house the New Pavilion, the Hohenzollern Mausoleum, and the Belvedere. The palace was severely damaged during World War II but was restored to its former glory after years of renovation. Today, visitors can stroll through the chambers that transport them back to the era of the Prussian monarchy and relax in the extensive gardens. The site offers guided tours and audio guides, and there is a café, restaurant, and gift shop on site.
