The Museum of Philumenism in Bystrzyca Kłodzka is the only institution of its kind in Poland and one of the few in the world dedicated to the history of fire-making. Located at 17 Na Grobli Street in the picturesque town of Bystrzyca Kłodzka in Lower Silesia, the museum was conceived in 1961 by local enthusiasts and representatives of a match factory, officially opening on July 19, 1964. Its collections include matchbox labels, packaging, and artifacts related to fire, illustrating how its role has evolved over centuries. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with toilets and a gift shop. Guided tours, museum lessons, and workshops are available for groups (minimum 10 people, reservation required). Opening hours vary by season: Tuesday to Saturday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (September–June) or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (July–August), Sundays 10:00 AM–3:00 PM (winter) or 10:00 AM–4:00 PM (summer). Closed on Mondays. Tuesday offers free admission to selected exhibitions. Tickets: regular 23 PLN, reduced 18 PLN, family 75 PLN. A typical visit lasts about 30 minutes. The museum is perfect for families, school trips, and anyone fascinated by unusual collections.
