Lubin is a historic town in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, located north of Legnica, in the heart of the Legnica-Głogów Copper District. Mentioned as early as the 12th century, the town has preserved many valuable monuments, including the Gothic parish church of Our Lady of Częstochowa, whose origins date back to the 14th century. The brick church impresses with its diverse vaults and a Baroque high altar. It is also worth seeing the medieval defensive walls, preserved in about 70%, with towers and gates that once made Lubin one of the best-fortified towns in Silesia. On Castle Hill, where a Gothic castle once stood, there is now a cultural center with the Castle Gallery and the Jadwiga Gallery, as well as the Monument to the Victims of Lubin '82. In the southeastern part of the Market Square stands the Baroque town hall from 1768, housing the Historical Museum. For families with children, Wrocław Park is an ideal spot – a vast green area with a free zoo and a recreation zone, where all attractions are free of charge. It is a perfect place to spend a whole day outdoors, both for residents and tourists traveling along route S3.
