Raptawicka Cave
Raptawicka Cave is one of the popular caves in the Kościeliska Valley in the Western Tatras, near Kościelisko. It is located about 180 meters above the valley floor, and visiting it takes about 30 minutes. The entrance requires climbing a secured trail with chains and descending a vertical, several-meter-long ladder. The main chamber is partially lit by daylight, but a flashlight or headlamp is needed for the side passages. The cave, together with the neighboring Mylna and Obłazkowa caves, forms the Pawlikowski Caves system. The trail starts in the Kościeliska Valley, about 400 meters behind Hala Pisana, and the approach takes about 15 minutes. This place is attractive for families with older children (over 8 years old) and all nature and mountain adventure enthusiasts. Admission is free, and the site is open seasonally. It is worth combining a visit with the nearby Mylna Cave and Pawlikowski Windows.
