PG4 Brewery

PG4 Brewery is a brewpub located in the heart of Gdańsk, right next to the main railway station at 4 Podwale Grodzkie Street. It occupies a historic building that once housed the railway directorate and later a railway clinic. The interiors impress with a combination of wood, brick, and modern elements, with the main attraction being the active, gleaming copper brewing kettles. It's an ideal place for beer enthusiasts, who can tour the brewery and learn about the brewing process, often with the head brewer himself, Johannes Herberg, the creator of all the beers brewed here. The offer includes classic styles such as lager, pilsner, stout, and wheat beer, as well as the flagship Old Gdańsk beer brewed according to a historic recipe. The greatest treasure, however, is the Jopenbier, a beer produced in Gdańsk since 1449, characterized by its dark color and distinct flavor. The restaurant menu, crafted by head chef Piotr Domański, is based on local, fresh ingredients and Gdańsk cuisine with elements of Old Gdańsk traditions. Signature dishes include herring in linseed oil with bison grass and gooseberry jelly, rib eye steak from long-aged beef with hasselback potato, vegetable gołąbki with pearl barley and mushrooms, and sea flatbread with house-smoked mackerel. Each dish is paired with a recommended beer, and even soft drinks like cola are made on-site. The brewery offers table service, reservations, and wheelchair access. It's a great spot for lunch or dinner, suitable for couples, groups, and business meetings.
