MDWA
MDWA is an intimate fine dining restaurant in the heart of Gdańsk, located in the Hilton Hotel. Its name is a play on abbreviations: it references the sister restaurant Mercato and the painter Wojciech Fangor, whose works adorn the walls. The interiors, designed by Juliusz Knieć, combine minimalism with pulsating avant-garde, and the windows overlook the Motława River. The head chef is Dominik Karpik, known for leading the Michelin-recognized Mercato restaurant. The tasting menu is a culinary journey full of textures and colors, with dishes such as a variation on jellyfish or a dessert in the form of an edible canvas with edible paints. Guests can order dishes solo, with wine pairing, or with signature non-alcoholic cocktails. The restaurant offers unusual solutions: a 'do not disturb' light at each table and a menu where prices are visible only under UV light. It is a place for couples and business meetings, where visual art meets high culinary art.
