Srebrna Góra

Srebrna Góra is a charming, quiet town in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, located at the entrance to the Kłodzko Valley, on the border of the Sowie and Bardzkie Mountains, between Nowa Ruda and Ząbkowice Śląskie. Its history dates back to the 14th century, when galena was mined here to obtain silver. Today, the main attraction is the massive, never-conquered Srebrna Góra Fortress, known as the Silesian Gibraltar, situated above the town on Kręta Street. Visiting the fortress is a unique experience – guides dressed in period costumes, with a great sense of humor, lead tours through the fortifications. The area also boasts the largest system of enduro trails in Europe, Singletrack Glacensis, opened in 2019, perfect for mountain bikers. It is also worth seeing the original, sloping market square with a fountain and a monument to a Napoleonic soldier, as well as historic railway viaducts from the late 19th century – the Żdanowski Viaduct (24 m) and the Srebrnogórski Viaduct (28 m), with a total length of 260 m. The town is home to the Baroque Church of Saints Peter and Paul and the historic Villa Hubertus, formerly a PTTK mountain hostel, now a guesthouse with a restaurant. Srebrna Góra is an excellent base for exploring the Sowie and Bardzkie Mountains and a perfect weekend destination for families and groups.
