📍 Jelenia Góra, PL🕒 Up to 1 hour

Parnas is a viewpoint in Borowy Jar in Jelenia Góra, on a hillside where two large rocks stand. The name comes from academic youth who, together with Daniel Stoppe, stayed in this place and built a fireplace between the rocks, among stones and moss. One of the students suggested the name Parnas, which was accepted. The place was significant enough that in 1736 Matthaeus Schubarth, author of the map of the Duchy of Jawor, marked it with a special topographic sign. Today Parnas is an attraction of Borowy Jar, a former amusement park of Jelenia Góra, and makes an interesting destination for walks. Visitors can rest, admire the rocks, and imagine the old student gatherings. It is a place for everyone interested in history and nature, and a visit takes less than an hour.
