Church of Peace in Świdnica

The Church of Peace in Świdnica is the largest wooden Protestant church in Europe, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located at plac Pokoju 6 in Świdnica, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The Baroque interior impresses with its rich decoration, and since 1657 Evangelical services have been held here without interruption. Visitors can admire the altar and pulpit, listen to organ music during concerts, and see the exhibition 'Treasures of the Church of Peace'. The church is surrounded by the historic Peace Square with centuries-old trees and buildings, forming a unique Lutheran enclave. The site has been visited by, among others, the Swedish royal couple, German chancellors, Polish prime ministers, and the 14th Dalai Lama. The church is open all year round, offers guided tours, and has a café and gift shop on site. It is an ideal place for lovers of history, architecture, and music, as well as for families and organized groups. Admission is free, and the site is close to public transport stops.
