Chopin Avenue
Chopin Avenue in Duszniki-Zdrój is a historic, representative promenade that has connected the spa area with the town center since around 1800. Designed by Karl Gotthard Geissler, the avenue appears on maps as early as 1891, and since 1875 it has been enriched with tree plantings. Listed as a historic monument, it was interrupted in 1915 by a new road junction, and its diverse-aged tree stand includes species such as common ash and black alder. After damage caused by the flood in 1998, the avenue was restored, but it was only a thorough revalorization completed in 2021 that brought back its historic character. As part of the Polish-Czech project Aqua Mineralis Glcensis, the surface was renewed and two mineral water intakes – the Agata and Felix springs – were rebuilt. Today, with new paving and greenery, the avenue is a popular spot for walks, offering shade on hot days and enhancing the town's spa atmosphere. It is an ideal place for families, seniors, and couples seeking a peaceful outdoor retreat surrounded by history and nature.
