Rudawiec

Rudawiec is the highest peak of the Góry Bialskie range that has an official hiking trail, making it part of the Crown of Polish Mountains. The summit reaches 1106 m above sea level and is located in the Sudetes, near the village of Bielice. The hike starts at the end of the road to Bielice, by the forester's lodge, where there is a free parking lot for about 10 cars. Note: there is an illegal no-entry sign before the parking that should be ignored. The green trail leads through the forest, initially flat then with a moderate ascent, not too difficult. The route passes through the "Puszcza Śnieżnej Białki" nature reserve – one of the wildest areas in the Sudetes, once called "paradise" by Princess Marianne of Orange-Nassau. Picking forest fruits is forbidden in the reserve. The summit offers no panoramic views, but there is a Crown of Polish Mountains checkpoint box. Descent is via the same path or an alternative trail. The whole trip takes about 4 hours or more. It is a good choice for families and anyone looking for a forest walk rather than mountain vistas.
