Potsdam
Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg, is a city with a thousand-year history, known above all for its fairy-tale palaces and extensive parks. Although often overlooked by tourists visiting Berlin, it is an excellent destination for a day trip or a longer stay. The main attraction is Sanssouci Palace, the summer residence of Frederick the Great, with its Rococo interiors and picturesque vineyard terraces. The palace is surrounded by a vast park containing other landmarks such as the New Palace, the Picture Gallery with works by old masters, and the Roman Baths. Visiting the palaces often requires booking a time slot, and some interiors can only be seen with a guide. It is also worth strolling through the charming old town, where you will find churches, museums, and cafés. Due to the large distances between attractions, it is better not to plan too many sights for one day. Potsdam offers plenty of options for families, couples, and groups alike, and its rich history and architecture will delight any lover of historic monuments.
