Jasmund National Park is the smallest national park in Germany, located on the island of Rügen, near the town of Sassnitz in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Its main attraction is the picturesque chalk cliffs, including the famous Königsstuhl, which rises 118 meters above sea level. The park is also renowned for its ancient beech forests, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can enjoy numerous hiking trails, including the popular route from Sassnitz to the Königsstuhl, about 8 kilometers one way. The trail leads through the forest or along the rocky beach, offering impressive views of the cliffs. There are viewpoints such as Victoria-Sicht, as well as an educational center at the Königsstuhl, where you can learn more about the nature and history of the area. For convenience, the park offers parking, toilets, a café, and a gift shop. It is an ideal destination for families, nature lovers, and hikers, providing unforgettable experiences throughout the season.
