Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi
The Museum of Art in Łódź is a leading institution for modern and contemporary art in Poland, with two branches: ms1 at 43 Gdańska Street and ms2 at 19 Ogrodowa Street. Its collection focuses on avant-garde and experimental art from the 20th and 21st centuries. The new permanent exhibition 'Sposoby widzenia. Kolekcja Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi' (Ways of Seeing. The Collection of the Museum of Art in Łódź) opens on 17 October 2025 at ms2, telling the story of the museum as a site of artistic innovation. Currently, the exhibition 'Dary przyjaźni' (Gifts of Friendship) features nearly 150 works donated by nearly 100 artists from dozens of countries, displayed at both locations. The museum also offers educational workshops called 'Laboratoria Widzenia' (Laboratories of Vision) for hands-on exploration of art. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday: Tuesday-Wednesday 9:00-16:00, Thursday 12:00-18:00, Friday 12:00-20:00, Saturday-Sunday 12:00-18:00, closed on Mondays. Guided tours and a gift shop are available.
