Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg
Miniatur Wunderland is a fascinating miniature park located in the heart of Hamburg, inside the historic Speicherstadt warehouses. Spread over three floors, it features an impressive model landscape of about 1,500 square meters, depicting parts of Europe and the world in miniature. Visitors can admire Switzerland, Bavaria with Neuschwanstein Castle, Hamburg, Scandinavia, Austria, Venice, Rio de Janeiro, and the United States, among others. The main highlight is the world's longest model railway – the tracks stretch for approximately 15,400 meters, with over 1,000 trains running on them. Besides trains, thousands of cars and even flying airplanes move across the displays. The scenes are brought to life by hundreds of thousands of tiny figures, trees, and streetlights, creating realistic everyday situations. Many exhibits feature buttons that trigger additional animations, and the lighting changes to simulate day and night. This attraction delights both children and adults, offering hours of entertainment. The building also houses ticket offices, a gift shop, a bistro, and a cinema for kids. Due to the wealth of details, it is recommended to set aside at least two hours for a leisurely visit.
