Lake Constance (German: Bodensee) is the third-largest lake in Central Europe, situated on the borders of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. It covers an area of 534 square kilometers and has a shoreline of 273 kilometers. This glacial lake, through which the Rhine flows, reaches a depth of about 252 meters. It consists of three parts: Obersee, Untersee, and Seerhein. A paved cycling route of about 260 kilometers encircles the lake, making it perfect for family trips. From the German shore, especially near the Bavarian town of Lindau, there are views of the Swiss Alps. Lindau, located on an island, is famous for its harbor with a lighthouse and a lion statue. Nearby is the Austrian town of Bregenz, known for its floating stage where the Bregenz Festival takes place. This is an excellent destination for outdoor activities, boat cruises, and exploring picturesque towns.
