Golden Mountains

The Golden Mountains are a picturesque range in the Eastern Sudetes, located in Lower Silesia near the Czech border, around Lądek-Zdrój and Złoty Stok. Their name refers to old mining traditions and gold extraction, which shaped the region's history for centuries. The range charms with peaceful forest trails, wild nature, and expansive panoramas of the Sudetes. Its highest peak is Smrek (1127 m above sea level), but in the Crown of Polish Mountains it is represented by Kowadło (989 m). It is an ideal place for hiking for those seeking less crowded routes and atmospheric corners of Lower Silesia. From higher elevations, views extend to the Bialskie Mountains, Śnieżnik Massif, and other Sudeten ranges. Popular destinations include Borówkowa (900 m) with its observation tower and Trojak, offering views of the Kłodzko Valley and rock formations hidden in the forest. Trails start, among others, from Bielice and Lądek-Zdrój, providing diverse landscapes and close contact with nature.
