Navy Museum in Gdynia and ORP Błyskawica
The Navy Museum in Gdynia is a place that takes visitors into the history of the Polish Navy. Located at ul. Zawiszy Czarnego 1B, right by the seaside, its main attraction is the destroyer ORP Błyskawica – a legendary ship that can be explored from bow to stern. The modern museum building covers over 3,000 m² and features air-conditioned exhibition halls with permanent and temporary displays. You will see uniforms, medals, flags, dioramas, and original military equipment. The permanent exhibition 'We Have Orders to Hold You…' tells the 100-year history of the Polish Navy. For children, there are interactive elements, models, and the chance to board the ship. The museum offers audio guides and guided tours. On-site facilities include a café, gift shop, and toilets. It is suitable for families, school trips, and individual tourists. Open daily from 10:00 to 16:00. Tickets are moderately priced.
