Restauracja Hawełka Kraków
Restauracja Hawełka is the oldest continuously operating restaurant on the Main Square in Kraków. Located at Rynek Główny 34 in the historic Pałac Spiski, its history dates back to 1876 when Antoni Hawełka opened a colonial shop there, later adding a breakfast bar. Over the years, it has hosted cultural and artistic elites, including Henryk Sienkiewicz and Stanisław Wyspiański. The interiors are adorned with paintings and stained glass, while the first floor houses the Tetmajerowska Hall featuring a frieze depicting the legend of Master Twardowski by Włodzimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer. The menu focuses on Galician and Old Polish cuisine based on traditional recipes. In summer, guests can enjoy outdoor seating with a view of the square. The restaurant is open daily from 08:00 to 24:00. Reservations can be made online or by phone. It is a place where history and flavor merge in a unique atmosphere.
