Sioło Budy Open-Air Museum

Sioło Budy Open-Air Museum is a rural open-air museum located near the Białowieża Forest, recreating a farmstead from the first half of the 19th century. The original buildings were moved from the village of Dobrowoda in the Kleszczele commune. The farmstead includes a cottage, a pigsty, a barn, a well with a sweep, and a characteristic wattle fence made of willow branches, once common in these areas. The cottage dates from 1836 and consists of a passage hall, a large room, and a bedroom. Inside, there is a stove and the only functioning wooden chimney preserved in Poland. The roof has been covered with thatch since the beginning. The museum can be visited with a guide, and admission is free. It is an interesting place for families, organized groups, and school trips to learn about old rural life. The facility is open seasonally and requires prior reservation.
