📍 Święta Katarzyna, PL🕒 4+ hours

The Świętokrzyskie Mountains are one of the oldest mountain ranges in Europe, located in central Poland, in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Their name comes from the relics of the Holy Cross kept in the monastery on Łysa Góra. The highest peak is Łysica, rising in the Łysogóry range. Characteristic features include steep slopes, deep valleys, rocky outcrops, and gołoborza – extensive rock fields. The area is protected as the Świętokrzyski National Park, established in 1950, covering mainly fir and beech forests. Main tourist centers are Święta Katarzyna and Nowa Słupia. On Łysa Góra there is a monastery, and nearby you can visit the Raj Cave. Hiking trails lead through picturesque terrain, and for families, the miniature park in Krajno is an attraction. This is an ideal place for nature and history lovers, with easy access by public transport and tourist infrastructure.
