Fort Karola

Fort Karola is a picturesque ruin of a historic guardhouse located in the Table Mountains, right next to Lisia Przełęcz and the Road of a Hundred Turns. This spot is an excellent viewpoint offering a panorama of the nearby peaks, including Szczeliniec Wielki. From the free parking lot at the pass, a short walk of about 10 minutes leads to the fort, without requiring much effort. Although no official trail leads directly to the ruins, a signpost with green markers along the road helps visitors find the way. The stronghold was built in 1790 by order of Emperor Charles VI to control the route to Radków. Today, only fragments of walls, a viewing platform, and remnants of a gate and windows remain. In the middle of the courtyard, there is a pedestal with marked directions of the world. It is a great place for a short stop during a trip around the area, especially at sunset when the views are most picturesque. The site is open to everyone and free of charge, making it attractive for families, couples, and groups.
